Fans of both Drake and Eminem are speculating over a favor that Drake supposedly did for one of Eminem’s daughters.
In a 2018 interview with Sway, world-famous rapper Eminem revealed that another hip-hop heavy-hitter, Drake, would always be in his good graces after doing an unnamed favor for his daughter. This line of questioning followed a rumored feud between Eminem and Drake.
While there is no clear answer as to what said favor was, there is plenty of speculation.
Back in 2016, there were rumors of a feud brewing between Drake and Eminem. It stemmed from a comment made by Ebro Darden, a Hot 97 radio host. Darden stated that he’d told Drake about the possibility of Eminem getting involved in a previous feud between Drake and Joe Budden, another rapper signed to Eminem’s record label.
This was met by an article from Hollywood Life, who claimed to have spoken to a “source” close to Eminem who responded that Eminem was confident he’d win any rap battle against Drake.
“Marshall thinks Drake is a great studio rapper. He has a great sound and has plenty of hooks that are amazing. But when it comes to street rapping — battle rapping — Drizzy would get destroyed. Marshall knows it would be a quick knockout.”
The veracity of these statements is uncertain, and Darden was quick to make it clear that he and Drake were, in fact, joking about these statements:
This seemed to settle the dust for a while, until in 2018 when people began to speculate that Eminem was dissing Drake on his song “Lucky You” taken from his tenth studio album, Kamikaze and making reference to Drake’s ghostwriter scandal with the lines:
“I got a couple of mansions/Still I don’t have any manners/You got a couple of ghost writers/But to these kids it don’t actually matter/They’re askin’ me, ‘What the fuck happened to hip-hop?’/I said, ‘I don’t have any answers.’”
Eminem addressed this in his four-part interview with Sway: “Drake is always going to be in my good graces because he did something for one of my daughters that I will never forget… I like Drake.”
This put to bed the rumors of a feud between the two, who have performed on stage together before. During Drake’s Summer Sixteen tour, he brought Eminem out on stage, and bowed down to him, calling him “the greatest rapper to ever get on a microphone.”
However, this has caused some fans to start questioning what favor Drake could possibly have done for Eminem’s daughter.
Eminem has three daughters, the most famous of which is Hailie Mathers, due to her prominence in the limelight and Eminem’s music. His other daughters are Whitney Scott Mathers and Alaina Marie Mathers.
Hailie Mathers, also known as Hailie Jade, is Eminem’s only biological daughter. Whitney and Alaina Mathers were both adopted by the rapper through their mother and aunt respectively, Kimberly Scott.
There is no confirmation of which daughter Drake did the favor for.
Speculation is mostly confined to fan forums on sites such as Reddit and Quora, with suggestions running the gamut between Drake giving one of Eminem’s daughters VIP treatment at one of his shows, to paying for her birthday meal at a restaurant, to helping her get into college.
There is no proof to support any of these, but the fans seem to think it must’ve been a substantial favor or good deed to forever be in Eminem’s good graces.
The latter two of those ideas, the free birthday meal and help with college admissions, do not make much sense when you consider that Eminem has more than enough money and influence to make those things happen for his daughters.
Given the main sphere of Drake’s influence, it seems most likely that the rapper gave one of Eminem’s daughter’s VIP treatment at one of his concerts, which is nothing to sniff at.
After all, he has been known to do this for his baby mama, Sophie Brussaux.
