Mrs. Griffin knows best.
Grete Griffin, the wife of former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III, called out the lone issue she had with her husband’s on-air look Tuesday, which consisted of a navy suit and white sneakers.
In a video posted Tuesday to ESPN’s X account, Griffin can be seen sitting in a chair, seemingly leaning forward, while awaiting the return of former co-analyst Jeff Saturday, who served as interim coach for the Colts part of last season.
Grete caught wind of the clip and tweeted at Griffin: “Stop creasing your shoes baby,” along with a cringe emoji face.
Griffin, who has been married to Grete since 2018, cheekily replied: “That’s a REAL Sneakerhead right there.”
The playful banter continued with Grete remarking: “Video hurt my soul.”
This isn’t the first time Grete has called out Griffin, 33, when he’s been on TV.
During a “Monday Night Football” broadcast last November, Grete — who owns Glow Fitness, which specializes in at-home workouts and fitness accessories — tweeted at the former first-round pick as he devoured chicken on the air.
“Are you eating chicken on live TV?” Grete wrote alongside a clip of Griffin chowing down with his fellow analysts.
Griffin later replied, “Yep,” alongside a trio of crying laughing face emojis.
A former Heisman Trophy winner, Griffin was selected second overall by Washington in the 2012 NFL Draft and played eight seasons in the league, with stops in Cleveland and Baltimore as well.
In a video shared on X in April, Grete — who shares three daughters with Griffin — revealed her husband trains “every single day” should an NFL team come calling.
“Nominated for a Sports Emmy today for his work on TV yet STILL this man trains every single day just in case a team comes calling,” she posted at the time.
“So proud of you baby and never met anyone that works harder for their dreams than you @RGIII.”
